ABOUT US
María José and Andrés began their work together in 2016, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the great Circus Criollo. They worked in traditional circles and contemporary shows, touring Argentina and Chile.
María José
María José Monje Rivadeneira. She’s 28 years old and was born in Antofagasta, Chile but lives currently in Buenos Aires. She’s a circus permonfer and a dancer and works as a yoga, pilates, stretching and contemporary dance teacher.
She worked in circus tours as an aerial acrobat and a choreographer, specially as a swinging trapeze artist. Currently, she’s investigating on technics that merge dance and contemporary circus. In her career as an independent dancer, she has performed for different companies and has created her own processes. Her main disciplines in the circus world are the swinging trapeze and the cyr wheel.
She started her studies in Chile and continued developing her skills in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the Universidad Nacional de Arte (U.N.A.) and by taking curses in local schools as well. She has also participated in shows, festivals and conventions as an artist and a teacher.
Andrés
Andrés Elencwajg (Argentine, 32 years old). He currently works as a teacher in aerial acrobatics technics, particularly in the aerial straps discipline and swinging trapeze in two schools in Buenos Aires, Argentina: Circo Criollo and El Pasillo Artes Escénicas.
For the last 8 years, he’s been the director of Apariciones Producciones Artísticas, a producer that works with city governments, private events and NGOs. He has worked as artist both in traditional circus and contemporary circus shows.
He studies in the Universidad Tres de Febrero where he received the degree of Interpreter of the Circus Arts. He completed his studies of artistic gymnastics in Club Deportivo Racing. He’s a teacher and performer in different schools and worked in conventions and circus festivals with groups of kids, teenager and adults.
